This is recital flyer #3 for me =] and I’m getting paid $20 for it! Good Stuff.

This is a practice-morph. I have a new project where I have to morph a body part into an object (I’ll post when it’s done next week), and this was my test-run. Gross, huh?
Last night, James took me to see the Army Blues. They played Frank Zappa arrangements, and it was AWESOME. I went through a phase in high school where I listened to FZ (I know, weird), and although I didn’t recognize any of the songs (he has 39857 albums) I thoroughly enjoyed every bit of it. I saw Rick Parrell (he does jazz workshop) and waved. He didn’t look at me. He was never fond of me, I wouldn’t expect him to wave back anyway.
After the concert, we went to Outback. My food was awesome, but our waiter didn’t give us silverware. Luckily there was a giant pile of it on the table next to us. No refills, no more bread, no ketchup for James’ burger and fries, no dessert offer…like James said, for all you waiters out there (and bartenders, Frank), customer service doesn’t stop half an hour before closing time. At least he was a pretty blonde boy with decent manners, James tipped him $2. More than I would have…
Today was super nice outside. I spent all afternoon with Sarah from the old dorm and a few of her friends. I need some summer up here.
That’s all =]

It feels like it should be Thursday.

I went to Flight of the Conchords last night, like I told you before. My seat was okay, but thanks to the retarded ushers who didn’t know what was going on, I got to sit with Frank in the box seats! As you can tell from the picture, we were pretty close. AWESOME. I’m so glad I went.

James and I celebrated Easter by going to the zoo in DC. There were lots of stupid people there, but I got lots of nice pictures. Tonight, Frank and I are going to see Flight of the Conchords. In case you didn’t know, FOTC is on my top 5 list of shows. I’m very excited.

There we go. I’m at James’ now, so the slow internet in President’s Park is no longer an issue (that was the reason I could post these yesterday).
The first three pictures are some color studies. Boring color wheel, simultaneous contrast, and gradients. The last two are gum transfers. Here’s how gum transfers work:
1. Print out a picture using toner ink
2. Spray flat surface with water and lay image down so it will stick
3. Spread gum arabic on image (this helps the colored ink in step 4 stick to the toner ink of the image). Wipe the gum arabic off of the white parts of the picture.
4. Roll colored ink over the picture, put picture on bristol board, cover and put through a press. Voila.
The first gum arabic transfer is a tree and a butterfly. The second is a toaster and a cool wallpaper-looking pattern.

WordPress will not let me post pictures =[ I had some painting stuff to put up too.
I was in Ohio for guard (world finals and such) from Wednesday-Saturday night. SO many things went wrong, but I won’t vent about it here and bore you.
This post is pointless, I’m just waiting around until I get tired. I keep reloading the WordPress page in hopes that the picture-adding thingy will work, with zero luck.
